Christian Spirituality Centre

We are a leading centre in providing facilities and accommodation for individuals and groups who come to us for personal and spiritual development, to explore their relationship with God through prayer, teaching and reflection individually and with others. Whirlow has been called a 'thin place' where people find God and a safe space for prayer, reflection and worship and is the reason that many people return again and again.

Important News..

As you may know the Conference Centre closes on July 31st 2014. The work of the Spirituality Centre will continue, but at this time we do not know whether it will be at Whirlow Grange or not. We are currently looking to "rehome" our programme from 1st August onwards, but we have had to cancel all the residential events. Please check our 'What's On' section for the latest information.

We want you views!

Bishop Steven has appointed a working group to consider and consult on all the options for the future of the Spirituality Centre and to report to him. As part of its discerning where God is leading, the group would like to hear from past and present users of the Centre and Chapel and from anyone wondering about how to encourage prayer and spiritual deepening in our communities. Download the questionnaire here.

You are welcome to join us for worship at our contemplative style Eucharist every Tuesday at 9.45am in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. The service lasts approx. 45mins.

Also, on the first Sunday of the month (except January) we have a Reflective Worship service at 7pm which lasts for about 45mins.

After both of these services there is a chance for a drink and a chat. Our worship is open to all.

Living Spirituality Series

Introductions to Christian Spirituality
Beginning on Thursday 6th March, the Living Spirituality Series will begin with an evening introducing the history of Christian Spirituality in general. This will be followed by four further evenings focusing on different spiritualities in more detail. This is great way to get an overview of a variety of spiritualities, experience something of their practice and have the opportunity to share and discuss in a safe environment. See our flyer for more information or check out the 'What's On' page
