Christian Sprituality
'Teach us to pray' the disciples asked Jesus, so began the exploration of Christian Spirituality. Christianity has tremendous resources to help people explore prayer, deepen faith and enable discerning God in life. Sadly these are too often underused and little explored. From the contempative to the charismatic, from imagery and poetry to silence, the range is wide and deep and inviting. In the present age, where spirituality is a word easily bandied about, there is a grat opportunity to enable and encourage the exploration of prayer and spirituality.
Chapel
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit is the heart of the Centre and provides a holding space for personal prayer and corporate worship. It is very flexible and can be configured in ways appropriate to the occasion. The building was designed by George Pace, and recently refurbished with Dominic Lockett as architect.
Programme
Quiet days, retreats, workshops and courses form the 'Spaces for the Spirit' programme for the Centre. These offer opportunities for anyone interested to take time away to explore their own spiritual lives and find stimulation and support in this. The programme is published annually and can also be found on the website.
Space for you
The centre offers space for individuals, Parishes and other groups to come for their own programme or to have time with a programme facilitated by the Centre's own team. Please enquire on 0114 2363173 if you are interested in using the space.
